Jean Casarez is a Mexican-American lawyer and news correspondent. She was born and raised in Long Beach, California, USA. Her date of birth is April 20, 1960. She graduated from the University of Southern California and got her Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law, Los Angeles. As a law student, she won the first place in a statewide Moot Court competition and assisted in the preparation of a Writ of Certiorari for the US Supreme Court. She also worked as a clerk in Gallagher and Tratos, Nevada.  She is a member of the bars in Nevada and Texas and holds a registered license in the Southern District of Texas Federal Court.
