Isha Sesay

Isha Isatu Sesay was born on January 6, 1976 in France. She is a journalist that was known for working with CNN. She has served as a correspondent and anchor for CNN.

Journalism Career

She was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge. As a kid, she always wanted to become an actress, but in the later part of her life, she decided to become a television journalist.

She was working as an anchor and correspondent for CNN since 2005. She has even worked with Anderson Cooper and is has been working as a presenter since January 17, 2011. She is a career oriented woman of beauty, who has sailed through her success smoothly because of her skills and confidence.

After 13 years at CNN, Isha Sesay announced that she was leaving the network on August of 2018 with a tweet from her Twitter account, “it’s really happening, folks!! After more than a decade behind the desk with those three red letters… I HAVE LEFT CNN.”

In an interview with What We Seee, she went into more details about why she decided to leave the national cabel channel, “It’s an exciting time for me and a nerve-wracking one. I’m writing a book about the Chibok girls, it’s being released in May 2019. It really speaks to where my head is at, currently a lot more coverage about Africa, a lot more work on the continent, and a lot more focus on young girls. That’s what I’m about right now.”

She felt that the network was being too distracted with news about Donald Trump and missing coverage on more important issues, “It’s all so Trump-focused. He sucked all of the oxygen out of the room. The media is following that lead to the exclusion of almost everything else, in a meaningful way. For me, personally, it’s not what I want to spend all my time doing. After a while, I want to do more coverage of the Ebola outbreak, of the elections in Liberia, or any number of things that are happening. I’m ready to take control of what I’m talking about.”

She didn’t have a bitter exit and was grateful for her time with CNN, “I’m ready to have a little bit more autonomy and to take the lead in my own life. I’ve been at CNN for 13 years, it’s the end of a huge chapter. It’s been such a tremendous time, such an eventful 13 years. I feel like I grew up working there. I showed up as a 30-year-old in 2005, with two suitcases and a one-year contract. I’ve managed to make that last 13 years! It’s been amazing, I’ve been married when I was there, divorced when I was there, it’s all happened.”

Married Life

Isha Sesay is one strong woman of a substance. She pursued her dreams and always was energetic and charismatic. She always had a dream of living an ideal life where she could pursue her passions. She imagined a perfect life with the man of a dreams and she was lucky enough to see her dream become a reality. She started dating her co-worked at CNN Leif Coorlim since 2011 and remained friends with him for a long time. Their relationship was kept a secret as public details were never mad public. However, on January 5, 2013 it was announced that she got engaged to Leif Coorlim. She loved and admired him for his best qualities and what captured her the most was his kindness and the big heart he had. 

She knew in her heart that he was the man of her dreams. Coorlim would also try to impress her in all different ways and try to woo her. Their relationship evolved from boyfriend and girlfriend to fiancé and fiancée. During this time, they understood each other well and wanted to tie the knot. Their several moments of being genuine friends together before marriage helped them understand each other perfectly. Coorlim loved Sesay for her outgoing nature and vivacity, which appealed to him very much. Both of them had so many good things to say about each other like the typical Romeo and Juliet romance. Now that they had decided to be with each other, they announced that, they wanted to get married to their friends and relatives.

They had a perfect high profile wedding with all the pomp and show of a typical movie wedding. They were madly in love and their strong emotions appeared on their wedding day where they had a blast whole night. Their wedding seemed to be a romantic, elegant and unconventional event. Every girl dreams of her wedding day to be a perfect high profile wedding, as seen in movies. Isha is one lucky woman, who saw all her dreams come true and above everything else having the opportunity to lead a life with the man whom she loved the most. They complemented each other so well that it is too hard to say if they will ever have to see the ugly side of divorce in their lives. So many high profile weddings which get dissolved sometimes in a very short span but it seems that this perfect couple will stand the test of time and live forever happily. They are more than happy to be called husband and wife.

Divorce

After 5 years of marriage, Isha’s and Leif’s marriage ended in divorce. The news of the divorce was a shocking reveal to the public and Isha’s fans. There were no signs that the couple was in any trouble so the news came as a surprise. Isha mentioned the divorce in passing when she announced her exit from CNN. Since there wasn’t a public announcement about the divorce, it is speculated that Isha wanted to keep the details of the divorce a secret. No one knows if the divorce was caused by an extra martial affair or if the couple just decided to mutually end things. Her fans were really sad when they found out because Isha and Leif were an example of a perfect couple.
