Verne Lundquist’ s real name is Merton Laverne Lundquist Jr. He was born in the year 1940 and he is a sportscaster of American citizenship. He now works at CBS Sports. He worked like lead play-by-play announcer covering college footballer at CBS Sports but the last game he covered was Army Vs Navy. He also called for play-by-play for NCCAA basketball in NCCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship and he provides the commentary of PGA Championship and Masters.

From his biography, Verne Lundquist was born in the city of Duluth in Minnesota State. He attended Austin High school found in Austin in Texas and then attended Texas Lutheran University. He is among Omega Tau Fraternity’s founders in the year 1958 and finished in the year 1962. He is now a Board of Regents member in his old school.
Verne Lundquist went to Augustana Seminary in the Rock Island found in Illinois. His father worked like Lutheran Pastor at the same time Nebraska Synod’s President for Augustana Lutheran Church.
He started the broadcasting career when he joined WFAA based in Dallas as a sport anchor and then KTBC in Austin. He was a radio voice of Dallas Cowboys. He joined Cowboy Radio Network in the year 1967. He continued to work there until 1984. He worked with play-by-play man named Brad Sham since the season of 1977. This is the year when the Cowboys reached to 12-2 and got a NFL title for the second time in the Super Bowl XII.
Verne Lundquist worked for ABC Sports since 1974 until 1981, and worked for CBS since 1982 until 1995. She also worked for TNT cable since 1995 until 1997 and returned at CBS in the year 1998.
