Hala Gorani with full name Hala Basha Gorani, she is a
Syrian American raised in French. She is an international correspondent of CNN
and she is based in London. She is an anchor of The World Right Now with Hala
Gorani at CNN. The show takes place on 9pm on weeknights. She was the co-host
of the Your World Today together with Jim Clancy until 2009. She co-hosted International Desk up to 2014
for the Atlanta Headquarters of CNN.

Hala Gorani was born in Washington: Seattle in the year 1970. She has an international background. She is a citizen of US and was raised by French and Syrian parents. Gorani lived mostly in Paris and a part of her childhood in Algeria. Hala means Corona and it is an Arabic name. She got her bachelor of science in the economics under George Mason University, in Virginia and graduated in the Institut d’etude Politique in France. She speaks many languages including Arabic, French and English. She likes Paris and she considers it as her home and it is the place where her mother lives.

Hala Gorani started her career in La Voix Du Nord as a reporter and for the Agence France Presse. In 1998, she joined CNN network after the stint in London at Bloomberg Television. She started to work as an Anchor for CNN at European Breakfast show for CNN international. Afterwards, she was reporting for different countries including Palestine, Jordan, Israel, Iraq and Saudi Arabia. She became the first television reporter to report about the Jordan, after the suicide bombers of Al Qaeda attacked two hotels in Ammam. She covered Lebanon-Israel war of 2006 and this won CNN the honor of the Edward R Murrow Award. She covered general election in France and moderated two sessions of the World Economic forum of Davos in Switzerland.
