Cappie Pondexter

Cappie Marie Pondexter was born on January 7, 1983 in Oceanside, California to Vanessa and Leo Pondexter. She was raised in Chicago, Illinois along with her siblings. Cappie has a sister Latoya Pondexter and brother Ronald Brown. She studied in John Marshall Metropolitan High School. During her school time, she was interested in sports and being one of the best school basketball players was also named a WBCA All-American.


After she graduated from high school Cappie enrolled to Rutgers University and moved to New Jersey. During the College years, Cappie participated in the Big East Championships for two years in line. Cappie is also competed in several Tournaments of NCAA. Being the guard of a team, after many games Cappie Pondexter took home a dozen awards. She got her degree in Africana studies and afterwards entered to the professional sport world.

She began her professional basketball career in the early 2000s. Her first big game was in the 2000 when she participated in Junior World Championship Qualifying Tournament. Then she appeared at World Championship for Young Women in the 2002 and again in the 2003. Previously, when she was at school she also involved in WBCA High School All-America Game. In the 2006, Cappie moved to Arizona to become the member of local team Phoenix Mercury. She got second place overall in the WNBA Draft at the same year. The next year she was one of the main players along with Penny Taylor during the Mercury's championship run.

During the 2008 Summer Olympics in China, Beijing she won gold medal for United States. She was a member of Turkish team Fenerbahçe Istanbul for two years from 2006. She later signed contract with the same team for another seasons in 2012-2014. She also got her big success while she played for UMMC Ekaterinburg club in the Russian Super league during 2008-2010. In the early 2010, Cappie was traded to the New York Liberty team by her own decision.

She wins three consecutive awards at the Western Conference Player at the same time of WNBA season of 2009, she become the first lady in the basketball history who did that. At the same year she also helped her team win the championship by defeating Indiana’s team. Currently she is one of the best women players and got to the TOP 15 WNBA list in the 2011. Recently Cappie Pondexter was traded to the famous team Chicago Sky. During the celebration of WNBA twentieth anniversary she also was named one of the top 20 players in the 2016.

Cappie is also a business woman in addition to her breakthrough sport career she started her own Style Management company titled "4 Seasons". She began her own business in August of 2010. Cappie is not married yet. She is a very private person and does not expose her relationship, regarding her boyfriend, husband and so on. There is also the rumors that she is a lesbian. She earns massive salary but there is no information about her net worth.
