Crystal was born in California. She took up schoolings in Cotton High School and Terrace Hills Middle School. She attended the University of California and got her degree in communication. She then attended a meteorology program that was conducted by Mississippi state university. Crystal is married and has two daughters. After working with many small news channels, she joined KDR-TV in Colorado in 2007. She then moved to KIFI within a short period of time. She worked in NBC Sports and in Cable News 16 in San Diego and then, she joined with Weather Channel. This is where she earned many awards. She is also seen in weekend shows.
She won Emmy in 2015 for her special news in NBC4. She was also recognized with a lot of awards. She was again nominated for Emmy for her story on Windsor tornado of 2008. Weather Channel made her the main weather reporter and in 2013, she left it for joining MSNBC, CNBC and Weekend TODAY. Just like her personal life, her financial status is also not known to media.
