Mike Huckabee

Michael Dale Mike Huckabee is a politician of America who was the 44th Governor of Arkansas. He won the 2008 Iowa Republican caucuses as he was the candidate of the 2008 United States Republican presidential primaries but lost to John McCain. He is the host of a talk show Huckabee on Fox News Channel. He also hosted a daily radio program, The Mike Huckabee Show in 2012. Mike was not from a very affluent family. He had leadership quality from his childhood days. Being a president of student council at Hope High School proves it. 

He started his career, when he was 14 years old by working on a radio station where he used to read the news and weather. Mike was the winner of a special election for Lieutenant Governor and when Jim Guy Tucker was convicted in the case of Whitewater, than Mike became Governor. He was selected in Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas for graduation where he obtained a B.A in religion and then he started involving in church activities. He was young at the time when he joined Garrett Memorial Baptist Church. Huckabee was also an author, musician, public speaker and a debater.

He was fond of playing guitar and started it at the age of 11 and used to play bass with Arkansas rock band, Capital Offense occasionally. He earned fame, when he became the governor of Arkansas Boys State. Huckabee is one of the favorite candidates of people and is an outspoken personality. He is an opponent of gay marriages and abortion rights. Mike hosts his show Huckabee, a political commentary program in front of the live audience in the New York City. His show featured many prominent political personalities like former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, the First Lady Michelle Obama and actors like Bradley Cooper, Edward Norton and many more. Before his media career, he was one of the youngest political figure.

Huckabee is an optimist. He was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and warned by doctors that he would not survive for more than 10 years. However, due to his will power, he maintained himself and now he is so fit and healthy that he had completed many marathons including the Marine Corps Marathon, New York City Marathon and the list is long. He is happily married to the lady of his life, Janet. They are blessed with three children, two sons, John Mark and David and a daughter named Sarah. Mike’s wife was also involved in politics and she was quite unsuccessful in it. It’s been more than 37 years to the couple’s marriage but they are still in a happy relationship and there is no sign of separation or divorce between them. At present, Mike is living with his wife in Florida.

The Southern Governor’s Association selected Huckabee as the chairperson in 1999. He has been the member of many renowned organizations and recently is the chairman of conservative PACs. Mike has been honored with two doctoral degrees including a Doctor of Laws and a Doctor of Humane Letters. He is famous among people as a national leader and has been awarded for his accomplishments. His estimated net worth is of 5 million dollars.
