Born in the year 1986 on 1st January, to father Bernard Morgan and mother Bernadette Morgan, in Armagh situated in Northern Ireland in the United Kingdom, Colin Morgan spent most of the early days of his life in Armagh. His parents have two sons named Neil Morgan and Colin Morgan. He went on to study at the Saints and Scholars Integrated Primary School and developed his interest in acting from there.


His fascination for acting started at an early age only and he performed for the first time in the play Cinderella when he was just five. He then went on study at the Integrated College Dungannon and was considered as one of the best students of the school. He further nurtured his passion for acting and dramatics in the college and became a part of every production. After this, he went on to study at the Belfast Institute of Further and Higher Education and graduated with a degree in performing arts in 2004 from there. After this, he joined the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and graduated from there I n the year 2007.

The major breakthrough in his career came when he got the chance to appear on television. He was chosen to portray the character of John Leary in the television show The Catherine Tate Show in 2007. Although it was just a minor role for one episode, this marked the beginning of his television career. He then rose to popularity for portraying the lead character Merlin in the television show Merlin in 2008. He was able to garner a lot of attention for the role and his fan-following also increased tremendously.

Currently, he is seen as the part of the show The Living and the Dead where he is seen as playing Nathan Appleby and he is being loved for his role. He has also done several other notable television shows which consist of Doctor Who as Jethro Cane in 2008, Colin & Bradley’s Merlin Quest as himself in 2010, Quirke as Jimmy Minor in 2014, The Fall as Tom Anderson in 2014 and Humans as Leo Elster in 2015.

He made a transition to movies in the year 2010 when he played the character of Cathal O’Regan in the film Parked. He has done several notable movies in his decade-long career and has been loved for all his roles. Some of his notable roles which consist of Island as Calum MacLeod in 2011, Testament of Youth as Victor Richardson in 2015, Legend as Frankie Shea in 2015, The Laughing King as Jake in 2016, The Huntsman: Winter’s War as Duke of Blackwood in 2016, Waiting for You as Paul Ashton in 2016, The Happy Prince as Lord Alfred Douglas in 2017 and The Rising as Sean Mac Diarmada in 2017. 

Talking about his personal life, there is no news about him getting married or having a wife. He was rumored to be dating Katie McGrath, but the news is not confirmed. His biography is available on several major sites and he has a net worth of $1.5 Million.
