A Martinez (Adolfo Larrue Martinez III) was born on September 27, 1948 in Glendale, California. He is of mixed descent, his family is of Native American, Spanish as well as Mexican. He was raised along with 4 siblings. He studied at the Verdugo Hills High School in Tujunga, Los Angeles. During his school time he was in a music band, it was one of the first experience with music. Previously, he tried himself at the vocal competition at the Hollywood Bowl, when he was just 12 years old. He continued his education at the University of California in Los Angeles. Additionally, he also played basketball for a five season.


He started his acting career in the middle 60s. In the beginning of his career he appeared in numerous TV series like “General Hospital”, “Columbo”, “Hawaii Five-O” and “One Life to Live”. In the 1972 he played the role of Cimarron in the movie “The Cowboys”. He got his breakthrough in the popular series “Days of Our Lives”, where he played Eduardo Hernandez.

In the 1974 he appeared as Luis Manuel in the film “Once Upon a Scoundrel”. The next year he was involved in the movie “Death Among Friends”. In the 1978 he played in the “Shoot the Sun Down”. He played in franchise TV series “Santa Barbara” with a main role of Cruz Castillo, he has been a cast member since 1984 till 1992.

During the 80s he has made his appearance in such projects like “The Yellow Rose”, “The Bold and the Beautiful”, “Walking the Edge” and “Falcon Crest”. In the 1990 he won a Daytime Emmy. He also played the role of Daniel Morales in the TV series “L.A. Law”. In the 1991 he appeared in the “In the Nick of Time”. He played the role of Mike Lewis in the movie “She Led Two Lives”, which released in the 1994.

He also played in several action series like “NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”. In the 2008 he appeared in the movie “Little Girl Lost: The Delimar Vera Story”. He appeared in the popular detective TV series “Castle” with a guest role of Cesar Calderon. For the last years he appeared as Joaquin De La Cruz in the TV series “The Night Shift” and in the thriller “Curse of Chucky” in the 2013.

He was married twice. His first wife was Mare Winningham. Their marriage was very short and they divorced in the 1981 (the same year of their wedding). In the 1982 he married again to Leslie Bryans, who was a fashion model. They have more than 36 years of marriage. The couple met each other on the move premier. They blessed with three children, son Dakota Lee, and two beautiful daughters, Devon Makena and Ren Farren. His net worth is about 8 million dollars.
