Ken Block was born on November 21, 1967 in Long Beach in California. He was born under the zodiac sign of Scorpio. There is not much public information available about his parents or siblings. When asked by Mother Authority how he first got involved with cars, Ken said, “I've been a fan of stage rally since I was quite young. Back in the '70s and '80s you were subject to whatever was on TV. I know I saw Pike's Peak on TV. I saw the Audi quattros in the '80s. I saw some stage rally. In the magazines in the '80s there was a lot of emphasis on the all-wheel-drive systems because they were developing it in rally racing and it eventually made it into cars. Then '90s were the years of Collin McRae and Tommi Makinen. I was never really that interested in American motorsports, mainly oval or drag racing. My brother did some drag racing but it just wasn't something I was really interested in. I also grew up riding dirt bikes, so I liked the cars that I could relate to because they jumped and slid in the dirt. I think that was the simple attraction for rally to me. I never thought that rally existed in the States, and in 2004 Travis Pastrana did a few rallies in the States. It just woke me up to the fact that I could actually race rally in the States. In the middle of 2004 I did a rally school in New Hampshire called Team O'Neil just for fun, to try it out. I just fell in love with it and started racing in 2005 full time.”

Ken started his rally career in 2005 and the first team he raced for was Vermont SportsCar team. He finished seventh in his first race and since then he kept on improving. He was also honored with the Rookie of the Year award which was sponsored by Rally America.  Later in 2006, he signed a sponsorship with the well-known auto brand Subaru. It was a life changing deal as it was the first time where he finished third in a race. He also raced in the Global Rallycross Championship and he finished second in the 2014 season championship race. He also participated in Rally America every year and he finished second in the years 2006, 2008 and also in 2013.

Ken also performed a stunt called a donut. He performed this stunt at Cenotaph War memorial in the United Kingdom. He used a ford Mustang for the performance and he was also featured on the popular TV show, Top Gear during the drive. The stun act received worldwide attention and that helped him gain a lot of fame. Ken has also been featured in an EA Sports game called Need for Speed. He also releases videos on YouTube on regular basis.

Street Wear Entrepreneur

Ken was the former owner of the popular skateboarding clothing brand, DC shoes but he later sold his business to someone else. When he owned DC Shoes, he sponsored a young skater named Rob Dyrdek which was the beginning of a lifelong business relationship and friendship. The two took DC shoes to the very top of the skating and apparel world. Rob was able to parlay his success from DC Shoes into becoming a huge media personality. He starred on a reality TV show called Rob and Big which was a huge hit for the MTV network. Ken made many cameo appearances on the show which usually involved him driving a race car. After Rob and Big ended, Rob continued to produce and star in many shows for MTV. In an interview, he revealed that he sold his DC Shoes share so that he could concentrate on another brand of his called Hoonigan Industry.

Hoonigan Industry is another clothing brand started by Ken. The company designs apparel and clothing for consumers who have enthusiasm for auto sports and racing. Ken always had a passion for clothing and wanted to pivot when he switched his passion from skateboarding to rally driving.

Ken is married and he had been married to Lucky Block for quite some time. There is no information about the profession of his wife and neither is there any information about his children. What is known is that the Ken along with his family lives in California.
