Famous actor, producer and writer Paul Stephen Rudd was born on April 6, 1969 in Passaic, New Jersey. He is of Jewish descent. His parents both were also Jewish and immigrated from Russia to England. His father Michael served in a Trans World Airlines, his mother Gloria worked at the KCMO-TV in Kansas City.

His father also worked as a historical tour guide and Paul frequently moved with him from one place to another. They lived in Lenexa, Kansas then in Anaheim, California and settled down in Johnson County, Kansas, where he attended Broadmoor Junior High, Shawnee Mission West High School and spent most of his childhood.
After high school, Paul entered to the University of Kansas, and he studied there theatre art. He liked acting and a Broadway, so after graduation from University, he enrolled to American Academy of Dramatic Arts/West in Los Angeles. Paul decided to improve his acting skills even more and moved to U.K. in order to continue his education at the British American Drama Academy based in Oxford.
Paul Rudd first appeared on TV in 1992 when he got a role of Kirby Quimby Philby in a TV series Sisters. Since that debut, he played in enormous number of films and TV series during 90s, including Wild Oats (1994), Runaway Daughters (1994), Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995), Clueless (1996), The Size of Watermelons (1996), The Locusts (1997), The Object of My Affection (1998), 200 Cigarettes (1999) and others.
In 1999, he received his first nomination on Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. He was nominated for the role of Wally Worthington in a drama movie The Cider House Rules. His first nomination inspired him a lot, and five years later, he received another nomination, this time on MTV Movie Awards for Best Musical Performance and Best On-Screen Team in a film Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.
From 2002 to 2004, Paul Rudd portrayed Mike Hannigan in 19 episodes of the cult TV sitcom Friends. From 2004 to 2013, he was nominated 13 times on different awards for different roles. He also won AFI Award for his roles in Party Down (2010), Critics' Choice Television Award (Parks and Recreation, 2012), San Diego Film Critics Society for the role in a comedy film The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012) and others.
