Lauryn Hill, born in New Jersey on 26th May 1975 to Valerie Hill. Lauryn is a famous hip-hop artist who is singer-songwriter-producer and actress and is now recognized as one of the famous musicians in the world. “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” which was recorded in the country of Jamaica made sales of 19 million copies since 2009 and has made the headlines for her talent. Hill’s voice was often recognized as “neo-soul”, who bridged hip-hop and mainstream popular music.

Hill grew up in a musically charged environment with her mother used to play piano along with her father who use to sing and she also had an older brother named Malaney. As per the records found about her marriage in her biography, she had 5 kids with her husband Rohan Marley, the son of Bob Marley.
Lauryn also found an organization which was dedicated to serving underprivileged urban youth which was named as Refugee Camp Youth Project that was aimed at raising money to send inner-city children to Hill’s native place, New Jersey. She was also supposed to act in movies like ‘The Matrix Revolutions’ ‘The Mexican’ ‘The Bourne Identity’, The Matrix Reloaded’ a Charlie’s Angels and but she eventually turned them down.
Career
She attended her school in Columbia High School. There, she learned to play Violin and dance and became a part of School’s Choir. Later, she formed a music group with Jeanand Pras Michel named as “Tranzlator Crew”. Lauryn’s first appearance was on an Off-Broadway “Club XII” which later fetched her a role in “As the World Turns” in 1991.
In 2012, she was charged with a serious tax evasion fraud of about 1.8 million US dollars and the year. Later, she paid $50000 of it to the government which caused her imprisonment and a house arrest for 3 months and was kept out of the bars because of her good behavior and lack of prior criminal record. Awards
The album that fetched her a lot of popularity was “Blunted on Reality” with the band “The Fugees” which later released “The Score” which went to No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 straightaway. Soon after, Hill went away from the gaze of the public eye because of dissatisfaction with the music Industry and pressure of fame which later resulted in failure in the subsequent album “MTV Unplugged No. 2.0”. Apart from winning these awards, there were certain occasions where she was nominated for her contribution to music.
