Israel Houghton is a Christian music singer, a worship leader, a producer and a songwriter of American origins. He was the producer of Michael Gungor called Bigger than My Imagination. It was called one of the best worship albums in the Christianity Today Review of 2003.

According to his biography, Israel Houghton had been a full time worshipper since 1989 from 1989. He is a national director for music and worship in Championship Christ. He is a leader of worship at Lakewood Church of Houston under Pastor Joel Osteen. Together with his first wife Meleasa, they founded the New Breed Ministries in the year 1995. It was made up with the singers and musicians from different churches. They have travelled extensively with the messages that pass through generational, denominational and cultural boundaries.
The band became well known in the year 2001 because of the Hosanna! Song and We Speak to Nations. The song was meant to diminish lines that separate churches and to bring the people together so that they can worship. He had worked with Yolanda Adams, CeCe Winans, Anointed, Crystal Lewis, TBN and Young Messiah Tour.
Israel Houghton was married to Melissa for 20 years but divorced her to marry Adrienne Bailon. Even if the two had separated for some time, some people rumor that Bailon had been the reason behind the separation. Israel Houghton said that he was unfaithful before. Israel Houghton got married to Bailon in the city of Paris in France. Only 50 people attended the wedding and they were only family and closest friends. The marriage took place when they had 12 age gap since Houghton was 44 and his new wife was 32.
Even if everyone believe that Israel Houghton was with Bailon and was the reason behind his divorce, Bailon said that she is not the reason and she did not even know about Israel Houghton that time.
