Asuncion Cummings "Sunny" Hostin (born Asuncion Cummings) was born on October 20, 1968 in New York City, the USA. Sunny’s parents are Rosa Beza and William Cummings. The place where Sunny was raised is the Bronx, New York. Sunny’s mother belongs to Puerto Rican and her father belonged to African American descent.


Hostin attended the all-girls Dominican Academy. Later she entered Binghamton University for her higher education where Sunny received her degree in Communications and Notre Dame Law School gave her law degree.

As for her biography, Hostin’s career began when she became a law clerk to Robert M. Bell, now the retired Chief Judge of the Maryland Court of Appeals, Maryland's highest court. She went on to work as an associate in Maryland at a law firm and later became a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division. Hostin left the Antitrust Division with an aim to become an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Columbia.

Court TV happened to be the beginning of her TV career as a reporter. And later she was given a spot on the Fox News daily show, where she was seen weekly on The O’Reilly Factor’s “Is It Legal?” segment, quarreling with Megan Kelly and Bill O’Reilly on different challenging issues and conspicuous conditions.

Nowadays, she works for CNN, where she started working in 2007 she was selected by CNN President Jon Klein as the official analyst for its leading morning show, American Morning. Now, Sunny developed, wrote and co-produced her popular weekly show, Sunny’s Law. It helped viewers to deal with challenges and confusion. What is more, she is against plastic surgery and has denied doing it.

She has published different famous and academic articles in many outlets on issues including securities foreclosures, fraud, crimes against women, sex crimes, and everyday financial legal issues. As a federal prosecutor, she was given with a Special Achievement Award by then Attorney General Janet Reno for her prosecution of child sexual predators and work with child sex abuse. Hostin was also a Managing Director of Business Intelligence and Investigations at Kroll, the world’s leading risk-consulting company.
