Shawn Christian is a renowned American film and television actor who has been active in the industry for over twenty years now.


Personal life

A native of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Shawn Christian’s birthday falls on December 18, 1965. He is 51 years old, as of now. His birth name is Shawn Patrick Christian. He is an impeccable basketball player and has also played for the basketball team named Miami Heat. He graduated from Rogers High School in Wyoming, Michigan. To pursue college studies, he attended Ferris St. University in Big Rapids, Michigan. Shawn moved to Chicago so as to commence his acting career and thus, he started playing television roles. He made his debut in a daytime show called “As the world turns” as Mike Kasnoff.

Shawn Christian is a married man. He first met his wife whose name is Deborah Quinn when they were working as models and were auditioning for an advertisement in Chicago, whom he began dating therefrom. The two married on 18th May in 1996 but unfortunately had to part ways due to some personal issues. He now has two children. His son Kameron was born in 2000 and he adopted his stepdaughter Taylor Quinn later.

He generates a hefty amount of money from his acting career and apart from that, he also gets paid by ads, sponsorships, endorsements and featuring. His estimated net worth is to be around U.S. $20 million, which includes his wages as an actor and also the money he earns through endorsements.

Career

After moving to Chicago to begin his acting career, Shawn starred in plenty of stage acts and also appeared in various commercials. He also worked with the company named ‘Improv Olympic’ on stage. In the year 1994, he was the first male spokesman on ‘Star Search’. He then got the part of Mike Kasnoff in 1994 on ‘As the world turns’. In 1995, he got nominated for “Hottest Male Star”. He moved to Los Angeles in the year 1997. In the year 1999, he got the part of Johnny Durant on WB’s Summerland. Despite being a huge success in the first season, it somehow failed to impress the audience in its second season.   

Once he moved to Los Angeles, he returned to his comic roots with roles on the HBO Series Will and Grace, 12 Miles of Bad Road, Ellen, Friends, The Drew Carey Show, Coupling and Becker. His other television works include the NBC hit movie Secrets of the Mountain, Shark, C.S.I., Spy Girl and Red Skies. He displayed an eclectic sense of acting skills as he did comedy, drama, action and family movies and tv shows.

Apart from acting, Shawn Christian is also the Executive Director of Operations and Marketing for a non-profit mentorship camp. The camp ‘Arrow-Heart’ is solely dedicated to the youths who are at risk and it inspires and empowers them through exciting adventures which nurtures young teens with various virtues of courage, communication, commitment, compassion, etc. Shawn may have a hectic schedule but he somehow manages to take time out for the things that matter the most in life.
