Manuel Neuer

Manuel Peter Neuer was born on March 27, 1986 in Gelsenkirchen, West Germany. He was raised alongside with his older brother Marcel, who is a footballer too. There is quite a little information about his parents. His father is a policeman, who is native of Baden-Württemberg. He studied at the Gelsenkirchen-Buer and graduated in the 2006. He has started football since his early years and during his youth career played for Schalke 04. In the 2004 he started his senior career by playing for Schalke 04 II. He played there four seasons in a row, except 2005-2006.


In the 2006 he has made his first appearance with Schalke during Bundesliga. He won the starting position when Rost was surprisingly dropped for the crunch clash against Bayern Munich. During the 2006–2007 he has made 27 league appearances in a row. In the next season he played in three matches in the German League Cup.

In the 2008, during the first round of the UEFA Champions League his team played against Porto, thanks to his brilliant skills he kept Schalke in the game by making several saves. They forced the game into penalties and reached incredible victory. He finished the 2007-2008 season with fifty appearances in all competitions and playing every minute in the season. The next season his team finished eighth in the league table, which made it out of the Europa League spot.

In the 2011 he continued his career way, by playing for a new team. Schalke confirmed that he would move to Bayern Munich. Manuel signed a five-year deal with a worth of 22 million euros. This contract made him the second-most expensive goalkeeper of all time. His start for the Bayern Munich team was pretty successful.

In the middle of 2012, he showed his unbreakable protection and saved penalty kicks from strong and famous players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka. This action helped to Bayern went through the 2011–12 Champions League as semi-finalist against the Real Madrid team. In the 2014 he won the German footballer of the year title. He also was awarded with the UEFA Team of the Year three times from 2013 - 2015.

For the international career, he was chosen on 19 May 2009. He became a team member of the senior German squad during the tour of Asia. In the 2012 he played every minute of every game in the qualification campaign for UEFA Euro, which gave to Germany 10 wins out of 10 games and reached them to the top. He also became the National Team captain.

He also is an active in charity work and even launched a foundation for children, named “the Manuel Neuer Kids Foundatio”. He is not married yet and there is no information about his girlfriend or future wife at all. He is available in the social sites like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram where he shares his updates. He has a salary of 9 million dollars, which made his total net worth approximately 40 million.
