Damon Wayans was born on 4th September 1960 in Harlem. He is a famous producer, writer, actor and a comedian in US. His father’s name is Howell Stouten Wayans and he was working as a manager in supermarket. His mother’s name is Elvira Alethia and she was a singer & a homemaker. He has 4 brothers and 5 sisters. He appeared in “My Wife and Kids” during his childhood. He went to Murry Bergtraum School for his high school education.


He started his career as a standup comedian in the year 1982. In 1984, he played a very shot role in the movie “Beverly Hills Cop” where he played the role of a Hotel Employee. He was part of Saturday Night Live from 1985 to 1986. Later he was fired for going against the script. He was seen in “Solid Gold” as a comedian during 1980s. He was the producer of a cartoon named as “Waynehead” for WB. This cartoon was based upon his childhood and he showed how it is to grow up in a large family. The show was not well released by the audience and it was closed down after 1 season only. He was seen as a detective in Chicago in the TV series named as “Damon” in the year 1998. He is also an author. In the year 1999, his book “Bootleg”. He is the co-author of the book and it was bestselling of “New York Times”. He was seen in the series “My Wife and Kids” during the years 2001 to 2005. He produced the series “The Underground” in the year 2006. His son was also seen in this series. In the same year, he was the host of BET Awards. In the year 2010, he was seen discussing his next novel “Red Hats” at the Regis & Kelly show. This book was published in 2011. He announced his retirement from stand up comedy in 2015.

He was married Lisa Throner from 1984 to 2000. They have 4 kids together. There was a death hoax about his son Damon Wayans Jr. recently. His Facebook page was filled with messages soon after that news. He has an estimated net worth of $35 million. He has more than 180 thousand followers on Instagram and more than 290 thousand followers in Twitter. He is a close friend of Michael Jordan, the NBA Legend. In 2013, he was identified with diabetes of Type 2.
