Robin Weigert was born on July 7, 1969 in Washington, D.C. Her parents was Dionne Laufman and Wolfgang Oscar Weigert. She is of Jewish heritage. Her father was a psychiatrist. After school, she studied at the Brandeis University. She graduated her College in the 1991 and later continued her education at the New York University, where she got her Master of Fine Arts degree in the Graduate Acting Program at the Tisch School of the Arts. Afterwards, she tried herself as a stage actress and later moved from New York to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career.
