Noomi Rapace was born in the year 1979 on December 28th. She spent her childhood years in Sweden. She also had a sister who was three years younger to her. She was born to her Swedish parents, Rogelio Durán and Nina Norén. His parents belonged to the glamour industry. His mother was a famous Swedish actress and his father was a Spanish singer. As her parents belonged from different background cultures, she had received the influence of both during her growing up period.
She had a knack towards acting from childhood as she always considered her mother as her inspiration. But her father wanted her to become a musician or singer like him in the future. She did not have any such interest towards music but she had a beautiful voice. She had an interest for learning new languages like English, Norwegian, Icelandic and Danish along with her native language, Swedish.
She went to the local high school with her sister and took great interest in the various co-curricular activities of her school. She had a special interest for drama classes and dance classes. She used to attend these classes regularly in the school and after some years, she insisted her parents to send her to the private drama classes. However, her father passed away after a few years and her mother moved to her grandparents’ house with her and her sister.
Just after they moved to Iceland, her mother got into a relationship with another man. They got married within some months and she and her sister had to move with their mother and step father to their new residence. She started doing theatres in her new school in Iceland. When she was only seven years old, she got the chance to appear on the screen in the film In the Shadow of the Raven. She got the chance to portray the role easily because she was very fluent in many languages. As she had a previous experience of the films, it became much easier for her to become an actress.
When she determined to become an actress, she joined the Stockholm theatre school. From there, in the year 1996, she got the chance to make her first television appearance in the television series The Kronor where she played the role of Lucinda Gonzales.
In the year 1998, she took the training in the acting school Skara Skolscen. She made a major appearance in the film Daisy Diamond where she imparted an unique role of a teen mother. She has also received award and nomination for her appearance in the film. Her most praised role was in the film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. She had also secured the Guldbagge Award and was also nominated for the European Film Award and the BAFTA Award for her incredible acting role in the film, which was loved, even by her critics.
