Chris Hemsworth was born in the year 1983 on August 11th. He was born in Melbourne, Australia. His father was a social service worker and his mother was an English teacher. He had two elder siblings and an younger sibling. He was brought up in a Dutch background and had a mixed ancestry of Scottish, English and Irish. He was very passionate towards fishing and wildlife campaigning. He used to go to the forests for campaigning with his friends and siblings.
He went to the Heathmont College high school. He never really wanted to become an actor. As he belonged from a middle class family, his main aim in life was to become successful in future. When he was in the university, he pursued his education with sociology. Back then, he wanted to become a social worker.
But later, when he was in the final year of his university, he took part in the drama competition of his university. He got the chance to perform in the lead role of the drama. He performed so well and impressed the audience. He received a lot of praises from the audience and also from his professors and from this, he developed a strong interest towards acting. He wanted to pursue acting as his career so he joined the renowned theatre group of the town.
In the year 2002, he officially started his professional career as an actor. He first appeared in the Guinevere Jones television series. He was only casted in the two episodes of the series where he played the character of King Arthur. After he played this role, he appeared in two of the major television series such as Marshall Law and Neighbours. He acquired much fame with his acting from the viewers. In the year 2004, he gave an audition for the role of Robbie Hunter in the show Home and Away.
He had a great passion for dancing too. After the year 2004, he participated in the dance show Dancing with the Starts Australia. He was trained by the famous dancer Abbey Ross. Though he could not make it up to the finals, but he impressed the judges very much. His fan following increased a lot after his appearance in the dance show!
In the year 2011, he got the chance to play the character of Thor in the film Thor by Marvel Studios. He also played the role of a superhero in the film The Avengers. He has also made appearances in horror films, one of which is The Cabin in the Woods. He has imparted his role efficiently in the film Snow White and the Huntsman as the Huntsman. His personal life is quite smooth and he is happily married to Elsa Pataky from the year 2010. They also have four children together and the family now stays in Los Angeles.
