Matt Skiba’s full name is Matthew Thomas Skiba. He was born in the year 1976. He is a songwriter, a singer and a musician born in America. He is a co-lead guitarist and vocalist for Blink-182 and Alkaline Trio. Skiba performed in Blink-182 and he was a last minute replacement because of the vocalist and the founding guitarist had left. In one year, he became a permanent member of the group.

Skiba has also a solo career and performed in side projects such as Heavens and The Hell. In the year 2012, he released the solo album called Babylon. His backing band was The Sekrets. The second album called Kuts was released in the year 2015.
According to his biography, Matt Skiba was born in the city of Chicago and then moved to live in McHenry when he was only 3 years. He started to play drums and piano when he was still too young. The first concert he was in was called Public Image ltd. In the year 1996, when working like a bike messenger, he started to play guitar instead of the drums. Before that, he was playing in different bands like Traitors, Jerkwater and Blunt.
His mother is called Joan Skiba and she works as a fourth and also a fifth grade teacher in Woods Creek Elementary school. His father is named Thomas Skiba and works as oral surgeon at Crystal Lake. He was born with two younger sisters who are twins.
Matt Skiba attended school in design at Columbia College but left in the year 1996 to start Alkaline Trio together with Bassist Rob Doran and drummer Glenn Porter. The group started by recording a demo at Sundials, and afterwards, they recorded the song For Young Lungs Only EP. After the release of the song, Doran left. Dan Andriano became a member of the groups and he was playing bass. The band’s first album was released in 1998 and it was called Goddamnit and afterwards, they released Maybe I’’ Catch Fire.
When Tom DeLonge left Blink-182, the Mark Hoppus said that Skiba will work as a fill in the band and will perform with the group in two different club shows and at Musink Festivals.
In 2001, he started the full solo tour in the Plea for Peace Tour. Matt Skiba likes to play with guitars and liked to play Gibson Les Pauls. However, now he plays Fender Jazzmaster, Fender Stratocaster, Gibson SGs and Gibson Les Paul Juniors.
When it comes to his personal life, Matt Skiba practices the Transcendental Meditation and he is a vegan. From AOL interface interview, he told them that it helps him to calm his mind and it offers him a chance of being more creative. He got married once but divorced his wife. He is now single. He has a net worth of 3 million dollars.
