Kevin Sorbo, popularly known for his acting, production and direction, came to life on September 24th 1958. He is a Native American and was born in Mound, Minnesota, U.S. He was born to the parents Ardis who was a nurse by profession and to Lynn Sorbo who was a teacher in maths and biology by profession. Sorbo graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead in Marketing as specialization. He started acting when he was very young. His family was not very affluent and hence to support his studies he started modelling in his school days. He used to model for print advertisements and TV commercials.

Sorbo loves to play golf during his free time and is known to be of very good nature. Sorbo is married to his present wife ‘Sam Jenkins’ and they both are staying together. The couple has 3 children, Braedon, who came to life in 2001, Shane and Octavia who were born in 2004 and 2005 respectively. Sorbo is known to have suffered from illness for a prolonged time during his acting career. He suffered from 3 major cardiac strokes and became very weak during his illness. He also reduced the work post 1997 when his strokes happened. However now he is fit and has recovered fully from the attacks.
According to his biography, Sorbo started his professional career while he was at college when he started taking up some modelling assignments for TV and newspaper Ads. However he started his acting career with short cameo roles in some TV shows like ‘1st & Ten’, ‘The Commish’ and ‘Murder She Wrote’ starting from 1988. He was also considered for the role of Superman in one of the Superman Series movies but was later rejected. However Sorbo rose to fame when he got a break the series ‘Hercules’ in the lead character. He acted for close to 6 years in the subsequent Hercules movies and his character was much appreciated across the series. Because of this he started getting offers for multiple roles. Later on he appeared in a series of movies like ‘Kull the Conqueror’, ‘Mighty Joe Young’, ‘Andromeda’ and ‘Never Cry Werewolf just to name a few. He has also appeared in many TV shows like ‘Santa Barbara’, ‘Just Shoot Me!’, ‘Dharma & Greg’, ‘Two and a Half Men’ and many others.
He has acted in over 30 movies and in almost equal number of TV shows. Sorbo also tried his hands in direction and production and he directed one of the Hercules movies and produced 3 other movies. He has also given his voice in many Video games over the course of his professional career. One of his scenes from a movie including the dialogue ‘Wait a minute. This isn't my world. Disappointed’ came under much criticism as it was said to be copied from some other show. However Sorbo clarified later on that the scene was not copied and was original. Sorbo has also written a book named ‘True Strength: My Journey from Hercules to Mere Mortal and how Nearly Dying Saved My Life’ which became much popular and got good ratings from the critics.
Sorbo’s net worth is projected to be around $6 million and is projected to increase in future as well because of his continued work on TV and in movies.
