Alex Guarnaschelli is a celeb chef who appears regularly on the Food Network. She is the host of several cooking shows, some of which she makes special appearances on, such as Chopped, The Best Thing I Ever Ate, Iron Chef America, and All Star Family Cook-off. Two shows that she chiefly hosts are The Cooking Loft and Alex’s Day Off. Along with her cookery shows, she is also an executive chef at the Butter Restaurant located in New York City. Early Life and Beginning of Career
Alexandra Guarnaschelli’s mother is another cookbook personality, Maria Guarnaschelli. Her mother used to edit cookbooks. She completed her schooling in the Horace Mann School and went to college at the Barnard College from where she graduated in 1991. She learned cooking from her mother and as she grew in age, she visited and worked at restaurants in major cities of the world to understand their culinary styles. Some of the restaurants she worked in include La Butte Chaillot owned by Guy Savoy which is located in Los Angeles. She has also worked in the famous Daniel Boulud Restaurant. Apart from these, she has worked in restaurants in France and New York among other cities. She is currently employed as the executive chef at Butter.
As a Television Host
Alex loved cooking growing up and she honed her culinary skills at major world restaurants, so it was only a matter of time that her work got due recognition. She participated in Iron Chef America of Food Network and was runner-up. She was later picked up to be a judge on the same program. She has participated in other challenges on the network too, such as The Next Iron Chef and Food Network Challenge.
Her first hosting show was The Cooking Loft with Alex Guarnaschelli in 2008. This show has a huge fan following, where Alex puts a new spin on traditional recipes.
The cooking challenge she won was the Season 5 of The Next Iron Chef where she won the final kitchen showdown. This enabled her to pose her challenges on the show.
Alex Guarnaschelli is particularly noted for her kind demeanor on the shows she judges, especially on the kid shows. She is praised for the way she handles and interacts with the child participants, making them feel at ease before and during the competition.

Personal Life
Alex Guarnaschelli married Brandon Clark, a personal injury lawyer, in 2007. Their wedding was well-attended by her restaurateur friends and family. The couple has one child named Ava Simone. The family has a home in Manhattan, where they live.
She published her first cookbook with recipes of her own titled Old School Comfort Food in 2013. The book was well received among her fans, as it contained her recipes along with tidbits of her own personal life and other autobiographical details. She speaks of her love for cooking and her progression as a chef in the book. Her net worth is believed to be in the range of $1.5 million.
