Joy Bryant was born in the year 1974 on October 18th. She spent her childhood days in New York. When she was only a few months old, a separation took place between her parents. She had to move with her mother to her grandmother's house. When she was two years old, her mother got involved in a relationship which led to her second marriage. Her mother left her with her grandmother and moved with her husband to his place. She had to spend her childhood days with her grandmother.
Her mother hardly came to meet her on the weekends and she absolutely had no contact with her father. As a child, she knew nothing about how her father was and neither did she get any time to spend with her mother. She felt miserable at times when she saw all her friends with their parents. She felt very lonely and the only person to talk to was her grandmother.
She had developed a passion for dance from a very early age of three years. Her grandmother admitted her to a dance school in their locality so that she can follow her passion as well as can come out of her boredom. After completing her high school education, she joined the Yale University. She studied Bachelor's of Arts degree in the university.

She showed her acting skills in this video which gave her the opportunity to try out better career options. She represented several brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Roca Wear and Ralph Lauren.
