Jonathan Silver Scott was born on the 28th of April, 1978 in Vancouver, Canada. His parents were also associated with the film industry, especially his father Jim. He was an actor and assistant director until he decided to devote himself to family. Scott also has siblings: an identical twin brother, Drew Scott, and an older brother, JD Scott.

At the age of 7, Jonathan started his career of an actor by performing in small theater productions. In addition, he was also interested in magic and won several awards for it. After graduating from the University of Calgary of business management, he went to school for construction and design and was licensed as a contractor. In 2004, Scott with his brother Drew founded a real estate company that created them their own TV series, Property Brothers, which launched in 2011. Since 2005, he has started to produce and promote independent film and television. For his achievements in this area, he was appointed an executive board for ACTRA for two years.
In 2013, Jonathan and his two brothers Drew and JD Scott hosted the radio show Off Topic with the Scott Brothers for Canada’s Corus Entertainment. Scott also worked in Toddler vs. Toddler, where he gained many positive reviews from the audience. Early television appearances included roles on X-Files and Canada's Breaker High. After taking part in via Brothers, the producers of The Bachelor paid attention to his personality, but he refused their offer to be the star on the show. Both he and his twin played themselves in the USA Network comedy Playing House in 2015. In the same year, Jonathan and Drew launched an outdoor furniture line called Scott Living sold on QVC. They also had a plan of a Scott Brothers-themed cruise called Sailing with the Scotts. In 2016, they released their first book, titled “Dream Home”.
