Joe Biden, born Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. on 20th November 1942 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, has been a U.S. politician. He had been the 47th Vice President of the United States from the year 2009 to 2017. He was associated, and worked, with President Barack Obama. He has been a member of Democratic Party and had been the U.S. Senator of Delaware from the year 1973 to 2009. He was appointed as an attorney in 1969 and came to be selected to the New Castle County Council in the year 1970. He became a Senator for the first time in 1972.


Personal Life

His father’s name is Joseph Robinette Biden Sr. and his mother’s name is Catherine Eugenia “Jean” Finnegan. He has three siblings, and he is the eldest of them all. The names of his three siblings are James, Valerie, and Frank. His parental grandfather had been of Irish, French, and English ancestry while his mother had been an Irish. His was a Catholic family. Joe is a U.S. national.

As for his educational accomplishments, he studied in St. Paul’s Elementary School in Scranton. Then, he joined St. Helena School and next Archemere Academy. He was not an intelligent student but possessed leadership qualities. He also had a strong fascination for football. He finished his education at Archemere Academy and joined the University of Delaware where he studied Political Science and History. After graduation, he joined Syracuse University Law School and did his graduation in 1968. He got married even when he was studying.

He married Neilia Hunter on 27th August 1966 after a romantic and long courtship. The marriage ceremony was held in a Catholic Church. They had together three children namely Robert Hunter, Naomi Christina, and Joseph R. “Beau” Biden III. However, his wife and daughter met with an accident while traveling in a car, and expired in 1972. He married again on 17th June 1977 with Jill Biden. They have been blessed with a daughter named Ashley. Unfortunately, a son of his namely Joseph R. “Beau” Biden III expired of brain cancer in 2015. He is living happily ever after.

Career

He started practicing law with a firm after completing his education. At the same time, he also began to take interest in politics and joined the Democratic Party. He was elected the Representative of Delaware in 1972. He worked diligently and took a number of initiatives with respect to the domestic and foreign affairs of the USA. Thus, he became one of the experts on the nation’s foreign policy. The Obama-Biden ticket became victorious in the 2008 elections, and Joe was appointed Vice-President of the country.

Thus, he became the 47th Vice President of the USA, and he was instrumental in stabilizing many aspects of the U.S. economy during the economic recession globally. Both the President and the Vice-President worked in tandem, and both were re-elected in 2012. Joe remained the Vice-President till 2017.
