Abby Lee is a popular choreographer and dance instructor, who is quite famous. She is the proud owner of Reign Dance Productions and Abby Lee Dance Company.


Abby Lee was born in the year 1966 on September 21st. She was brought up in Pennyalvnia. She was the only daughter of her parents. Her mother Maryen Lauren was a dance teacher and her father George L. Miller was a middle-class business man. Her mother used to give dancing lessons at a school but she left her job to spend more time with her daughter. Her mother started teaching her dance when she was only three years old.

Seeing her mother dance, she also followed her steps to soon develop an immense passion for dance. She never visited any dance school till she stepped in her teenage. Her mother also had a dance studio named as Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio. When her mother again started her career as a dance teacher, she used to give dancing lessons in her studio. Miller had participated in many dancing events and competitions from where she has brought innumerable awards and certifications.

Her mother faced a major injury when she was in high school and she had to start taking care of the dance academy. She replaced her mother and gave dancing lessons. As she had a very good knowledge about dancing, she did not have to face any difficulty. She also changed the name of the dance academy and renamed it as Reign Dance Productions. She pursued her further education after graduation, with dance. She has also achieved various degrees for her dancing career.

In the year 1986, she received an offer to be a member of the group Dance Masters of Pennsylvania. The membership did not last long leading to a controversy regarding her television reality show, Dance Moms. It has been said that the show was causing harm to their students and thus, should be terminated. In the year 2012, the reality show was called off due to the contents of the show. It was said that these contents, presented in a reality show were extremely insulting for a profession like dance. She lost the battle and kept herself away from the media for several years.

She was going through a lot of depression all these years and finally, in the year 2011, she did a comeback with her reality show named as Dance Moms. The show gained a lot of popularity among the people and went on the Lifetime television for seven seasons. Due to her outrageous popularity, she had to open another dance studio in Los Angeles and named it as ALDC LA.

In the year 2017, she ended the series. However, she got involved in some kind of legal problems due to which she was bankrupted and this lead to the end of the long term dance series in the year 2017. She was sentenced to a prison term for a certain period of time for committing serious fraud in legal matters.
