A.J. Hammer

A.J. Hammer is an American radio and television personality. He was born Andrew Goldberg on October 31, 1966 in White Plains, New York, USA. In 1984, he graduated from White Plains High School, New York and in 1988, he graduated from the University of Hartford with a degree in philosophy. Hammer was involved with the only official Jewish fraternity in America, the Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity.

Hammer is the anchor of CNN HLN evening entertainment show Showbiz Tonight, since its launch in 2005. From 2001 to 2005, he hosted Hollywood Heat of Court TV. It is a show focusing on crime and justice, in the world of entertainment. He has worked in several other capacities such as the host of several programs for Sirius Satellite Radio, correspondent for the daily morning program Good Day New York, Extra an entertainment news program and E! Channel’s News Live. Hammer gained fame during his time with VH1 where he hosted the Top 10 Countdown. This was in the 1990s.

From the age of 11, he was interested in working at radio stations. That interest remained with him and at the young age of 15, Hammer began his career in broadcasting at WNBC radio, New York City. While still in college he worked at WTIC-FM, Hartford, Connecticut. His later accomplishments were at WPJL radio and Z-100 WHTZ radio, New York City. Apart from his assignments as a radio broadcaster, Hammer was a model in Heartthrob: A Hundred Years of Beautiful Men. The October 1999 Gym magazine issue described him as a person possessing almost-too-good-looking-for-words attractiveness.

His other appearance was in The Mane Thing, a book authored by Kevin Mancuso. In Debbie Gibsons’ 2001 What You Want music video he was the model. The music video had a bathtub scene, in which the couple was seen wearing clothes. The tub was ¼ filled with cold water with bubbles atop. Hot water was not available. On Milton Bradley’s promotional tour of the Planet Hollywood board game he was the spokesperson. He has been in the entertainment business for over 20 years.

Hammer strictly keeps his personal life away from the prying eyes of the media. Thus, any news doing the rounds regarding his relationships, affairs and marriage may be based as rumors. The only relationship he has ever mentioned was with a girl, when he was in University. It was not serious. He now wears a wedding ring and the speculation is that he is married to Wendy Williams.

A rumor says he is having an affair with Brooke Anderson, his co-anchor of Showbiz Tonight and maybe seeking a divorce from Wendy. But how true are all these reports? They maybe rumors by the public who are nosy about his private life. On his twitter profile, there is a picture of Wendy and he has tagged her as being just a friend. Some of the people who could not prove him to be married or in a relationship, declare him gay, maybe because he spoke in favor of legalizing gay marriages. The fact remains that he has not commented on the rumors of whether he is married, having an affair or is gay. He remains unaffected by the gossip and ignores the rumors.
