Background
William was brought up in Greenwich by his family. He studied at the neighborhood high school and graduated with distinction and honors. After school, he chose to wind up as a legal counselor and to serve for the sake of equity and justice. Bumpus went to Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Connecticut. At that point he studied at The Yale Law School and graduated with a degree in law. William was married to celebrated TV anchor and journalist, Gayle King in 1982. Gayle is a co-anchor of CBS "This Morning". The couple met each other in 1981, when Gayle moved from Kansas City to Connecticut. They have two children, a boy and a little girl.
