William was brought up in Greenwich by his family. He studied at the neighborhood high school and graduated with distinction and honors. After school, he chose to wind up as a legal counselor and to serve for the sake of equity and justice. Bumpus went to Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, Connecticut.
