Born on 10th of June in the year 1982, to father Jack Lipinski and mother Patricia Lipinski in Philadelphia situated in Pennsylvania, United States of America. Tara Kristen Lipinski spent most of her days as a child in Gloucester County situated in New Jersey. She even spent some part of her childhood in the Mantua Township situated in New Jersey and moved from there in the year 1991. Her interest in ice skating started at a very young age of six. She even began participating in several competitions and by the time she was eight, she became a runner-up in the roller skating competion held by Easter Regional Championships in the year 1990. She then went on to be the winner at the  United States Roller Skating Championship in the consecutive year.


The major breakthrough in her career came when she became the winner at the Olympic Festival Competition of the United States. After these competitions, she was able to garner a lot of attention and had a huge fan following. She was selected to participate in the World Championships and even participated in the US Championship in 1996 where she came in the third position. In the year 1997, she went on to become the youngest person to emerge as the winner of US Championships and Champion Series Final. She also became the youngest person to emerge as the winner of the World Championships. Her streak continued and she became the youngest woman to emerge as the winner of the figure skating championship in Olympics 1998.

After her win, she went on to become professional and started touring and making public appearances. She went on to tour with Stars on Ice, as well as, Champions of Ice and her popularity rose day by day garnering the attention of a huge crowd. She suffered a hip injury in the year 1998 and had to undergo a surgery in the year 2000. Again in the year 2002, she had another hip injury after falling on her hip and had to be admitted. She quit touring after 2002, citing unsatisfactory and unhappy life on the tour as the reason.

She then started giving television appearances with her first television appearance in the year 1999 in the television series named Touched by an Angel where she played the role of Alex Thorpe. She has done several television shows and movies in her career which consists of The Young and the Restless as Marnie Kowalski in the year 1999, Ice Angel as Tracy Hannibal and  Are You Afraid of the Dark as Ellen, both in the year 2000, Arli$$ as herself and  At Home with Tara Lipinski as herself in the year 2002, 7th Heaven as Christine in 2003, The Metro Chase as Natalie Jordon in 2004, Still Standing as Sarah in 2005, Malcolm in the Middle as Carrie in 2006 and Superstore as herself in 2016. She is engaged to Todd Kapostasy and the couple got married in 2015. It is not known when they are getting married and become her husband.
