Darrell “Delite” Allamby is famous for being the ex-husband of singer and reality TV personality, Tamar Braxton. Darrell works as a music composer and producer who also collaborated with Tamar before their marriage ended.

Upbringing and Career
Darrell has a sister but there is not that much known publicly about his early upbringing. Darrell never spoke too much about his family in in any interviews even when he was in the public eye in a marriage with Tamar.
Darrell has worked and produced a lot of songs for various hip hop artists and groups like Busta Rhymes, Silk, and LSG. He has worked a lot with many top performers and is a popular figure in the music industry.
On a music podcast called Shoeshine Radio, Darrell explained how he fell in love with music at an early age “That's pretty much what I grew up around so I heard that all throughout my life my grandfather was the one who used to tell me, get on a piano press this button press this key right here. So I got into instruments and stuff like, that that's pretty much what got me into it. Outside of that my father was a DJ so I heard so much music growing up, that's where I would say it started probably around day one. I can hear music down you know yeah I was doing it from the start.”
One of the groups that Darrell worked with, Silk was very popular in the early 90s because a beloved song called Freak Me. The sexual song was a big hit on the radio because it came at a time when R&B groups were exploding with the Boyz II Men leading the charge. The group decided to make a comeback in 2016 and asked Darrell to help produce their new album called Quiet Storm, “We executive-produced it ourselves, there were a number of producers involved the most notable of those producers include Darrell “Delite” Allamby. He worked with us on two albums prior to this he’s known for putting out “Meeting In My Bedroom” and some of our other classic albums.”
Famous Wife and Marriage Drama
Darrell married singer, Tamar Braxton in 2001. They met a year earlier in 2000 when she was working on two of her song tracks. They dated for a few months and decided to get married immediately. There was no fights or problems in their marriage that was reported by the media when they were together.
There was a lot of drama in Darrell’s and Tamar’s marriage. They married for just two years and the marriage ended on a very bitter note. They ended their marriage in in 2003. Immediately after the divorce, Tamar started to date again. In a 2015 interview, Tamar mentioned that Darrell used to physically and mentally abuse her.

Darrell may have not been the problem in the relationship. After they divorced, Tamar remarried but also ended up having problems with her new husband Herbert. When Tamar became 40 years old, she made an announcement that was retiring from the music industry so that she could save her marriage with Herbert. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Tamar said, “There are a lot of things that I want to do, and a lot of things that are in the works. There’s a lot of things that are going on in my relationship and me being close to this music industry, and whatever I can do to eliminate all of the stress and problems off of my relationship, I would rather do that.”
Darrell may have dodged a bullet when his relationship with Tamar ended. Both Darrell and Herbert met Tamar because they were all involved in music but Darrell might end up singing the happiest tune because he passed on the messy relationship to Herbert.
Unfit Father
In 2014, he was accused by Cherie Covington of being a very bad father. In the accusation, she stated that he has multiple kids in New York and Atlanta but did not do a good job in being a father to them. She also mentioned that he might have had a lot of children around the world that he neglected. The accusation became very well known but Darrell never bothered to make a comment or defend himself. But Toshira Allamby, his sister came to his rescue and defend him. She stated that she knew about the relationships that Darrell holds with his children and she guaranteed that he was not a bad father. She also mentioned that he only has five children and not any more of the ridiculous number that Cherie claimed. She said that he has custody of four of his kids, except his eldest daughter. She was implying that he would not have custody of his children if the court had ruled him as a bad father.
There are no public details available as to who the mothers of those five children are and why he does not have custody to his eldest daughter, Sky. Since Darrell has remained silent throughout the accusations and drama, some people assume that the accusations are true but others believe in his sister’s claim was well.
It was rumored that the woman known as Cherie Covington, the woman who started the accusation of Darrell being an unfit father is actually Sky’s mother. Since Cherie made the claim without revealing her face or full identity, there is very little public information available on her and her relationship with Darrell.
Disappearing From The Public
Darrell he was out of the limelight after the divorce, there are a few details that were known about his personal life as he quietly disappeared from the entertainment industry. There are no details about his possible girlfriends after his divorce with Tamar. He did not mention or announce his relationship status in any interview. He was not known to be associated with any other celebrity after Tamar. There are rumors that he is married now with has a child with his new wife.
