Raheem Devaughn was born in the year 1975 on May 5th. He was brought up by his parents in Newark, New Jersey. Though he was born in New Jersey, he has spent most of his childhood years in Maryland. He grew up with his elder brother and two cousins. His mother was a professional federal worker and his father worked as a jazz cellist. From early childhood, Raheem had a passion for music.
As an elementary school student, he participated in several singing competitions. He sang very well without taking any help or training. Seeing his immense dedication towards music, his mother decided to send him to a music school. He went to a popular music school in the town. He joined the High Point High School. Besides performing well in studies, he also took part in other cultural activities, especially in music.
As he was excellent in music, he has made a number of appearances in his school. Devaughn has also participated in many music competitions as a teenager. He recorded several albums and also wrote the lyrics for some music tracks. Raheem’s hard work paid off when he got the chance to release his first music album. It was a solo album, “Guess Who Loves You More” and it has acquired a lot of popularity among the people.
Eventually, Devaugh popularity increased and his recordings were listed in the Top 10 list of music albums. Many of his songs have been featured on many music applications and websites. He has secured many awards and nominations for his incredible talent. He has secured one BET Awards, two BET J Virtual Awards, and was also nominated for the Grammy Awards.
