Neil Diamond was born to Kieve Diamond Rose in Brooklyn, New York. His father has served in the military and later he became a dry-goods merchant. In his early years, he attended Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn. He, later, went to Abraham Lincoln High School to complete his high school education. After high school, he attended the New York University for his higher studies. He was a member of the fencing team at his high school.
He went to university on a fencing scholarship and majored in Saber. While he was enrolled in the university, he started to write songs. He got his first musical instrument, which was a guitar when he was 16. He kept on developing his interest in music and eventually became a very famous and successful artist.
When it comes to Neil’s marital life, he has been married three times till now. He started his first matrimonial relationship with Jaye Posner in 1963. His first marriage didn’t last for a long time. They got divorced after 6 years in 1969. They have 2 daughters together. His second serious relationship was with Marcia Murphy and they got married. They had 2 sons together.

Neil has enjoyed a long, successful career as a musician and singer. He wrote his first song for his girlfriend when he was in university. He formally started his career as a singer in the 1960s when he released his first single “what will I do”.
He recorded that song with his high school friend Jack Packer and it was released under the name “Neil & Jack”. In his early years as a musician, he worked with a lot of companies and singers. In 1966, he released his first pop single “Solitary Man”. His songs have been listed in top songs for a long time. His songs were in the top 10 of the Billboard Adult Contemporary and on the hot 100. He is one of the bestselling musicians of all times as more than 100 million of his records were sold.
In 1984, he got into the songwriter's hall of fame. He also was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame in 2011.
