Nate Parker was born on November18, 1979 in Norfolk, Virginia to 17 years old Carolyn. He also has four younger sisters. His parents were never married. The last name Parker isn’t the name of his biological father. His mother was single before she met and married Walter Whitefield. When he studied at the middle school his family moved to Maine. Soon, after the death of his father, Nate moved again to Virginia Beach and lived with his maternal uncle Jay Combs. He attended Princess Anne School and Churchland School for his high school education. During the school years he started wrestling and got third in the state level wrestling championship. He also was in the wrestling team during the period of 1997-1998 with nickname “Great Bridge”. He studied at Pennsylvania State University, where he got a scholarship to wrestle. In the 2002 he got a fifth position in a wrestling championship of National Collegiate Athletic Association. Then he attended at Oklahoma University and got an undergraduate degree in Computer Programming In the 2003. Nate began working as a computer programmer and after meeting with Jon Simmons at the modeling convention in Dallas he moved to Los Angeles, California, for acting career.


In California he landed the role in few commercials. During 2003-2006 he played a few secondary roles in TV series “Kurtlar vadisi”, “Cold Case” and “The Unit”. He also appeared in movies “Cruel World” as Techno and “Dirty” playing the role of Duster in the 2005. In the 2006 he also was starred in the hip-hop version of “Romeo and Juliet”. Nate appeared in the movie “The Great Debaters” with role of Henry Loewe in the 2007, the film was directed by Denzel Washington and brought to Nate some popularity. At the same year Nate appeared as Hakim in the drama film “Pride”. For the last years he had made his appearance in several other movies such as “Red Tails”, “Blood Done Sign My Name”, “About Alex”, “They Die by Dawn”, “Non-Stop”, “Every Secret Thing” and “The Birth of a Nation”.

He also tried himself as a director by making short films “J.A.W” and “#AmeriCan” in the 2011 and 2014. Parker is the director and the main actor of the highest grossing film “Nat Turner”, for which he wrote and planned making process. Nate was nominated in Black Reel Awards for best actor award and received nominations in NAACP Image Awards. Nate is active in charity works, he also is a wrestling coach for kids in a High school. As a political activist he was supporter and volunteer of 2008 Barack Obama Presidential Campaign. In addition he provides scholarships to youth at the Wiley College.

Nate married to Sarah DiSanto in the 2007. His wife Sarah is native of Erie, Pennsylvania. The couple met each other during summer of 2007, while they were at the Penn State in Frontier Park of Erie. They have three daughters. Currently Nate and his family live in California. His total net worth is about 3 million dollars.
