Mary King was born in the year 1961 and she is British equestrian known to compete in eventing. She has represented Great Britain in over six Olympics since 1992 until 2012. She got silver in the year 2004 and the team bronze in the year 2008. During the World Equestrian Games, she got a team gold in the year 1994 and in 2010. She got a team silver in the year 2006 and she was able to win four team gold with one team bronze medal of European Eventing Championship.

She has been four times British Open Champion and she got a CCI Four Star Badminton Horse Trials of 1992 up to 2000. She was able to win a CCI four star Rolex Kentucky while riding a home bred make called King’s Temptress in the year 2011.
From her biography, Mary King was born in the city of Newark-on-Trent in June, 1961. The father was Lieutenant-commander MDH Thomson and was working like a naval officer and suffered his entire life because of accident of a motorcycle which took place before Mary was even born. Afterwards, he took up the job of verger at Salcombe Regis parish church. He died in the year 2000. Her mother is Patricia Gillian and continues to work as a verger of the same church. They are two in her family and her elder brother is called Simon Francis Bennett Thomson. Her family was not into horse but she got interested in horse after seeing the pony of the Vicar when she was only 6 years old. She asked her mother to help her ride around it on the lanes. This is when she got interested to ride at anything she can even on the donkeys. She decided to be a rider when she attended a Badminton Horse Trails when she was 11 years old and she found out she wanted to be a three-day event rider.
When she finished her schooling, she started to work under Sheila Willcox who was a European Champion and she learned how to break in, how to produce young horses and the stable management. Mary King is married to Alan King well known as David King. Her husband is a beef farmer. They have two children; a daughter Emily who is 16 and has became an eventer already and a son who is 13.
Mary King turned a cow shed that has been disused into a farmyard found near their homes and started to look after horses of other people, giving riding lessons and was selling and buying horses. However, she was not able to make enough money after turning professional. Afterwards, she was able to turn commercial her horse riding when she got the first sponsorship.
