Among the entertainers who are able to act and sing and do both with equal measure is Luke Macfarlene. His fame though is inclined towards his acting career. This, however, shouldn’t be confused as a suggestion that Luke is a poor singer.


Personal Life

Born in Canada in January 1980 to parents Thomas and Penny, Luke Macfarlene is the twin of his sister Ruth. Rebecca is the eldest of the two siblings. According to Luke’s biography, he grew up in Ontario with his dad who was the director of student health at the University of Ontario and mom who was a nurse at London hospital. Alongside his twin sister Ruth, Luke attended London Central Secondary School for his high school education. With time, Luke attended Lester B. Pearson School for the Arts and Juilliard acting school where he pursued his acting degree.

In his high school years, Luke was actively involved in music and he was a songwriter and the lead singer for the boy band Fellow Nameless. With the band, Luke and his mates were able to produce an album and a few other songs though their melodies have not been compelling enough to the audience to receive acclamation. Music aside, coming to Luke’s social networking life, there are many parody accounts under his name due to his status in the acting world thus no verified Twitter, Facebook or Instagram account can be associated with Macfarlene.

The hunk, who was for many years speculated to be gay, came out to clear the air in an interview. Though fearful, Macfarlene confirmed his sexual orientation to be gay, and he knew his sexuality would have a big toll on his professional career. Luke has been involved in relationships with other big names in the entertainment industry among them the Prison Break star, Wentworth Miller, and Chad Slivenski, who is a wrestler. Currently, Luke confirmed that he is not in any relationship and endeavors to focus on his career and not love affairs.

Career

From 2003, Macfarlene has constantly been in the TV scenes landing roles in a number of shows. Starting off as a young actor, Luke landed supporting roles in Over There, an FX series, Tanner on Tanner, and later on landed a lead role in the miniseries Iron Road. Luke’s major break came when he got the Scotty Wandell role in Brothers & Sisters. It was an ABC production. With this appearance, Macfarlene’s career got a boost, and his prominence grew featuring in other TV series including The Night Shift, A Birthday Wish, Mercy Street, among others.

This was just the tip of the iceberg for Luke. He got a chance to be a Hollywood star featuring in Kinsey as Bruce Kinsey and this, among other appearances, set Luke into the orbit of stardom. At 37 years of age, Macfarlene has been able to sum up a good amount of money from his music and mostly acting career. As of 2017, Luke is estimated to have garnered a net worth of 3 million dollars.
