Kiran Chetry was born in the year 1974 and she is Nepali born and a former American Television broadcast journalist. She is a cable anchor for CNN and for American Morning. Since 2001 until 2007, she reported and then anchored for the cable news of Fox News.

Kiran Chetry was born in Nepal in the city of Patan and afterwards, the family moved to go to live in USA. The name Chetry is from a large traditional caste of the rulers and the soldiers in Hindus found in Middle Nepal. Her father is called Hom Chetry and belongs to that caste and he uses it for its surname. His mother is called Nancy and she has Ukrainian, Germany and Dutch Ancestry. Her parents came to know each other when Nancy went to Nepal in Peace Corps. Kiran Chetry grew up in the city of Gaithersburg in Maryland, she went to Montgomery Blair High School in the Silver Spring in Maryland and she was serving in the student government and she also danced for pom squad and competed in the swim team. She joined the sorority of Delta Delta Delta for its Alpha Pi Chapter and got the Bachelor of Arts in the Broadcast Journalism.
Kiran Chetry started the career in the year 1995 when she was working in Maryland in Rockville. The following year she joined WICU-TV in Erie city of Pennsylvania. She was both the main anchor and the health reporter. She met with her future husband Chris Knowles there and he was working as the news anchor for the prime time. She got Best Enterprise Reporting Award from the Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association of 1997 for the series she was in charge of called Young and Hooked and she was reporting about the teen smoking. Kiran Chetry worked for KXTV of Sacramento where she was reporting as a morning anchor and worked there until she started to work for Fox News Channel.
Kiran Chetry started to work for Fox News Channel where she was the general reporter and she was appearing on 2001 in the story on eating ice cream. While on FNC, she also worked for other tv shows on the channel which are Fox and Friends First and Fox News Live. In the late 2005, she was a regular co-host at the weekend morning news program called Fox and Friends Weekends.
Kiran Chetry was among the Sexiest News Anchor of 2006 from Maxim Magazine and she was at third position in that list. She was ranked to be the second sexiest female anchor. Kiran Chetry was married to Chris Knowles but they divorced. They have two children together, a daughter and a son. Kiran Chetry has a net worth 700 thousand dollars.
