Christina Ricci was born in the year 1980 on February 12th. She grew up with her three siblings in Santa Monica, California. She was the youngest daughter of her father Ralph Ricci who was a lawyer and a therapist by profession and her mother Sarah who was a real estate agent. She grew up as a Scots-Irish. When she was five years old, she moved to Montclair, New Jersey with her parents. She had to change several schools in New Jersey because she had an introvert nature and did not want to mix up with people. Initially, she attended the Edgemont Elementary School where she studied only for a year.
When she was in this school, she recovered from her introverted nature and she was also an active member in the drama club. She was so good in acting that a famous director was impressed by her acting. She appeared in the school drama play The Twelve Days of Christmas. Though she was not casted in the role but she was approached for some of the television commercials and was also starred in a late night show, Saturday Night Live.
She developed an interest towards acting from this time. After that, she attended the Glenfield Middle School for some years and Montclair High School for the next few years. She also went to the popular Morristown - Beard School. When she was only thirteen years old, her parents separated. This affected her emotionally as she had to live with her mother and she loved her father a lot. Due to this, her grades suffered a lot and she was dropped out from the school. After that, she went to the New York City with her mother and was sent to the Professional Children's School.
In the year 1990, she was starred in the film Mermaid in the character of Cher, the youngest daughter of the lead. Other than that, she has also appeared in many of the music videos. The most popular song where she appeared was “The Shoop Shoop Song”. She impressed many of the directors and producers with her appearance which fetched her the chance to appear in the feature film The Addams Family.
She imparted the role of Wednesday Addams in the film. The film was so successful that she was again starred in the sequel of the film, Addams Family Values in the year 1993. She has received a lot of recognitions for her impressive acting skills in the film. She has also secured many awards for her major film appearances.
In the year 2008, she started dating the actor Owen Benjamin when they were working together in the film All’s Faire in Love. The couple got engaged in the year 2009 but they ended their relationship just after two months of their engagement. She got married to James Heerdegen in the year 2013 and the couple was also blessed with a son in the year 2014.
