Brittney Griner was born on 18th October, 1990 in Houston Texas. Her parents were Raymond and Sandra Griner and they have three more kids. Brittney completed her high school studies from Nimitz High School which is situated in Houston. Brittney Griner started her career in basketball when she was in school. She excelled at the sport from a very young age which is evident by the accolades she acquired during her school days. She broke two records when she was in her school. One was for highest number of dunks and the other one was for highest number of blocks made by a female.
After a good high school career, Brittney represented her college basketball team which was Baylor University in Texas. She continued with her legacy of blocking shots by blocking 223 shots in a single season. She also pitched two dunks in one game which is something only two women have ever done. With another record-breaking performance at college level, she received The 2012 Premier Player of Women’s college basketball and also an induction to AP Second Team. She helped her college to win the first division basketball championship.
Brittney’s career as a professional basketball player began at Phoenix Mercury after she was recruited during the WNBA Draft in year 2013. Brittney was as good for her club as she was for her school and college teams. She kept her record-breaking streak continued at club level as well. She was called to play for the national team in 2012 Olympics but due to some crisis and her education, she could not participate.
