Ami James was born in the year 1972 and he is a tattoo artist. He has a father who is American and he decided to convert into Judaism within three years before he moved to Israel. He joined Israeli army and this is how he met the mother of James. According to his biography, as a child, he lived in Egypt and Israel and spends most of the time without the father since he left his family as a young child when he was only four years. He suffered ADD and he said that he decided to enter into the tattooing when he was still a little and he was drawn into the art because his father was a painter and he had a tattoo. He moved to live in USA when he was 11 years and he lived with the parents of his father and at the age of 12 he went to live in Miami. When he became a teen, he went back to Israel and there he completed the military service with Israel Forces where he was the sniper. When he was 15 years old, he got the tattoo for the first time and this is the experience that made him to decide to be a tattoo artist on his turn.

In the year 1992, he decided to go into the apprenticeship and joined the tattoo artist called Lou who works at the Tattoos by Lou. He is the co-owner of Miami Beach, Florida Tattoo parlor called Love Hate Tattoos together with Chris Nunez. The parlor is the subject of the TLC reality television program called Miami Ink. James is the co-owner of the Deville Clothing Company together with Jesse Fleet and Nunez. He is the owner of the Miami Nightclub called Love Hate Lounge together with Nunez with two of his friends. He has created the designs for RAZR V3 mobile phones of Motorola. He is married and his wife is called Jordan and they gave birth to the first child called Shayli Haylen James in the year 2008 and the second child, the daughter called Nalia was born in the year 2012.
Ami James invests into the Jewelry like called Love Hate Choppers Jewelry together with the Boston Jeweler called Larry Weymouth. In the year 1996, he spent some months in the country of Denmark and he was doing the tattoos.
He said through his blog that he wants to move into nyc and he had the NY Ink show that he was planning to start shooting. The show started in 2011 and the second season started at the end of the same year.
