She went on to appear on a number of television shows which include Hotel as Jean Haywood in 1986, Likely Suspects in 1992, Out There 2 as the host in 1994, Nikki as Marcy Rhoades in 2001, Here! Family in 2005, Drop Dead Diva as judge Jodi Corliss in 2011 and Anger Management as Rita in 2013.

She started her movie career with the movie titled First Affair where she was seen as portraying the character of Karen in 1983. She received a lot of popularity for her role in the horror movie Fright Night where she played the character of Amy Peterson in 1985. She has also done some other films which include Protocol as a soap opera actor in 1984, Fraternity Vacation as Nicole Ferret in 1985, Goodness of Love as Cathy in 1988, Here Comes the Munsters as Mrs. Pearl in 1995, Give or Take an Inch as Charlotte in 2003 and Totally Baked as Mrs. President in 2007.

Talking about her personal life, she came out as a lesbian in 1993 and doesn’t have a husband. She is married to Carrie Schenken and they have adopted a girl named Zoe. There is no news about any other children.
