Willie Geist

Willie Geist is the co-host for NBC Today at 9am hour and a MSNBC’s Co-host of Morning Joe.  He contributes to NBC News programs of NBC sports group where he makes the reports for NBC Sports Networks and NBC Olympics. Besides his duties on the television, he is the host of Zeitgeist at nbcnews.com


Willie Geist was the host of Way Too Early with Willie Geist of MSNBC. The program was created in the year 2009 and he is now a co-host of the Morning Joe from the time the show started in the year 2007. Geist started to work for MSNBC in the year 2005 like a senior producer and he had served like a contributor for many NBC news programs which include Today night news together with Brian Williams. The program is called Rock Center with Brian Williams. Geist has also been anchor for the coverage of the NBC Sports Network for London Olympic Games of 2012.

Geist left the World of Sports Television to start to work on MSNBC.  He was a writer and a producer for a debate called I, Max aired on Fox Sports Net. He was the producer and the editor of the CNN/sports Illustrated which was a 24 hour sports network that was based in Atlanta. Afterwards, he became the reporter and the producer of the CNN Sports. He covered The Masters, The NCAA Final Four, and The Super Bowl with The United States Lawnmower Racing Circuits.

Willie Geist is the author for a 2010 New York Times, bestseller American Freak Show and he is a co-author for the Loaded! Become a Millionaire Overnight and Lose 20 Pounds in 2 Weeks or Your money back. This is a satire which is like a self-help genre. He graduated in Vanderbilt University for Nashville and he was the contributing editor of a school newspaper called The Vanderbilt Hustler.  Geist is living in New York City together with two children and his wife.

Willie Geist was born in Illinois with full name William Russell Willie Geist in the year 1975. While young, he attended the Ridgewood High School of Ridgewood in New Jersey. He was the captain for Basketball and football team. Afterwards, he graduated from University. He married his sweetheart in high school in 2003 called Christina Sharkey in Puerto Rico. They have a daughter called Lucie Joy with a son George William Geist. Geist is the old brother of Libby Wildes who got a Peabody Award for her documentary film that he produced called Crazy Love, Black Magic and Ring of Fire.  Libby is wife of Kevin Wildes who works on ESPN known as Mr Half Baked Ideas.

Geist is a grandson to Herbie Lewis who was the captain of Detroit Red Wings. During his time, they got two Stanley Cups and he is in the Hockey Hall of Fame.
