Rex Linn was born in 1956 in the state of Texas and grew up in Spearman. He is the second son of parents, James Paul Linn and Darlene. In 1969, his family moved to Oklahoma because his father got a new job practicing the law. At his new place, he attended Heritage Hall and afterward Casady School, an independent school affiliated with the Episcopal Church. His first job was a part-time job with Oklahoma City Zoo. In 1975, when he saw Jack Nicholson playing an iconic role in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, he decided to become an actor.
