Reena Ninan was born on April 30, 1979. She is native of Tampa, Florida. She is from Indian ethnicity. Her parents were Indian origin, from Kerala State. Reena fluent speaks on Malayalam and Hindi. She was interested in the journalism sector since the year of 1999. After high school she studied at the George Washington University and graduated with a bachelor degree in Political Communication and minor in Women’s Studies. During her education period she had studied Hebrew and Arabic languages. After College years she began her career as an anchor for World News Now program. She is also worked for “America This Morning” TV program. She also studied at the University of California, Berkeley during 2007-2009 and got Human resource management license.


Her big career on television started on Fox news Channel, where she was a Middle East Correspondent since 2007. During this work she reported different events and traveled to India, Israel, Indonesia, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan Iraq and Libya as correspondent along with Secretary Clinton. In the 2011 she reported about the Arab Spring and later interviewed Palestinian President. She was actually named as one of the “Women on the Front Lines” by Glamour Magazine. She worked on this position for five years until she joined ABC News in 2012. Since then Reena covered the big political events of White House and the State Department. At the same time she also was a co-anchor at several TV shows. She also was involved as the reporter of “Good Morning America”, “20/20” and “Nightline”.

Being the main correspondent, Reena reported about the aftermath of the Moore tornado in the 2013 and the last life weeks of anti-apartheid revolutionary, politician, and philanthropist Nelson Mandela. Afterwards, she moved to New York City where she was reporter, at the same time she continued to travel abroad being a foreign correspondent.

In the year 2015, she becomes a co-anchor for the early morning television show on ABC channel “World News Now”. She also was involved in another project “America in This Morning” along with T.J Holmes. Reena reported about Kenya’s Garissa University and Al Shabaab’s devastating attack on April of 2015. She also is a correspondent for CBS This Morning, CBS Evening News. Reena Ninan along with Elaine Quijano is an anchor for CBSN, which serve as the news 24/7 program. As a hobby she is an ambitious amateur chef. Reena is a charity activist and she is also Human Capital Generalist at Children’s hospital of The Oakland Research Institute. She is a manager volunteer coordinator.

She is married to Kevin Peraino. Her husband is famous reporter on television too. They met during the years of work together. Their wedding was covered by the many news channels. Ninan has two children, Jack and Kate. She likes to keep her private life to herself. Currently she resides in New York City along with her husband Kevin.
