Rashard Lewis

Rashard Lewis, born Rashard Quovon Lewis on 8th August 1979, has been a U.S. basketball player of the yesteryears. He became famous as a scorer in the National Basketball Association (NBA) while playing for Seattle SuperSonics. Later, he played for Washington Wizards, Miami Heat, and Orlando Magic. He was in the NBA Finals on three occasions and won NBA Championship once in the year 2013 while playing for the Miami Heat.


Personal Life

Rashard Lewis was born in Pineville, Louisiana, to mother Juanita Brown. There is nothing on record about the name of his father as yet. His ethnicity is African American while his nationality is American. As for his education, he attended Elsik High School at Houston, Texas. He became associated with NBA directly after completion of his high school education.

As for his personal life, Lewis married Giovanni Fortes. They dated each other for some time before getting married in 2011. They have together three children namely Gianna, Rashard Jr., and Grayson. He has not divorced his wife. Previously, he dated and was in a relationship with another girl named Brooke Bailey in the year 2010. However, their relationship was short-lived, and they parted ways. In the year 2009, he dated yet another girl named Rihanna.

Career

He started his career in basketball in 1998 and retired in the year 2014. He began playing professional basketball after he was inducted by Seattle SuperSonics in the NBA draft in the year 1998. He was associated with Seattle SuperSonics for nine seasons and was twice declared as All-Star. He fetched career highest 50 points as on 31st October 2003 in a match against Los Angeles Lakers.

He entered into a contract with Orlando Magic for six years for $118 million in the month of July 2007. He had had the greatest shot which proved to be the winning one against Cleveland Cavaliers during the Eastern Conference Finals. He had to undergo suspension for 10 games on 6th August 2009 after being found guilty of taking banned substances during the season 2009-10.

He was inducted by Washington Wizard on 18th December 2010 as an exchange for Gilbert Arenas. It was on 20th June 2013 that he entered into a contract with Miami Heat for a two-year term, and he won the NBA Championship, the first in his career. As per his biography, his net worth is estimated at $15 million.
