The lead singer of the most successful musical band, Alabama, Randy Yeuell Owen was born on 13th December 1949 in Port Payne in Alabama. He grew up in a farmhouse in DeKalb Country along with his younger sister siblings. He is English and Native American by descent. His father was a school teacher, and his mother was a housewife.


He completed his schooling from Fort Payne than graduated from Jacksonville State University. He decided to move to Anniston to pursue his career. During the 60’s, the singer formed a band with his cousin brothers, but ultimately the band got dissolved they went to college for their degree. He played the role of vocalist and guitarist of the band.They untied after completing their graduation, and the changed the name of the band to Wildcountry. After starting the band again in 1972, they added a drummer Bennet Vartanian, but Rick Scott took the place in 1974.

The band had to change to their name to Alabama to sign a record contract with GRT. After the band's first recording in 1977, they again got a chance to record in 1979 with the new drummer Mark Herndon replacing Scott. The hard drummer Herndon turned to be the Alabama’s signature sound. The band rose to fame and got a chance to record with RCA Records in 1980. With RCA Records, the band released “Tennessee River”. The band recorded 21 gold, platinum and multi-platinum albums. 42 singles of the band went number one on the music chart which got them awarded with eight country music Entertainer of the Year honors; two Grammy’s and two People’s Choice Awards.

This boy band once dissolved in 2003 and Owen decided to start a solo career. He released his solo album “One on One” in 2008 produced by John Rich. In the early days of his career, his love for the country music also made himself a part of Academy of Country Music which he quitted later.

Randy not only holds his interest in music but also holds a keen interest in writing. In his free time, he is mostly caught up writing short stories and composing poetry. He utilizes his spare time to enjoy all kinds of sports. The Eagles, Anne Murray, and the Ronnie Milsap are some of his favorite musicians and bands that he enjoys listening.

The lover of country music, Owen keeps his personal life secret and hence nothing about his personal life is much known in the media. His mother died due to cancer, and he took good care of his family. The singer got married to his wife Kelly Owen in 1974. The couple has three children, Alison Sena Yeuell, Heath Yeuell and Randa Rosanne Yeuell. According to his biography, he married at the age of 25 when Kelly was still 17. The couple is still living a happily married life together with their family. Having sold more than 75 million records, the vocalist and guitarist own the net worth of 50 million dollars. He is very less active on social media.
