Mike Gallagher

Mike Gallagher is one of the most influential radio and TV personalities in the United States. He is a political analyst and commentator. He is a conservative Republican and never shies away from expressing his right wing views. His eponymous show titled “The Mike Gallagher show has at least 7 million listeners per week and is placed as the sixth most popular radio show in the US. The show airs all over the US. Mike has been named for eleven consecutive years as one of the 100 most influential talk show hosts.


PERSONAL LIFE:

Mike Gallagher was born in Dayton, Ohio on on April 7th, 1960. Mike attended the Chaminade-Julienne High School in Dayton. He pursued his higher education in Wright State University and University of Dayton. While in school, he was an active participant in the school radio and theatre groups. His first tryst with radio was when he hosted in WAVI-AM at the age of 17.

He eventually moved on to work in a few radio stations and ultimately landed the opportunity to host “The Mike Gallagher show”. Initially, the show aired only in 12 radio stations. Its immense popularity slowly led its reach to expand. The popular host was married to his then girlfriend Denise Gallagher with whom he has four children namely Trevor Gallagher, Matthew Gallagher, Bryan Gallagher and Micah Gallagher. However, his wife passed away when she was 52 owing to cancer. Mike Gallagher has a net worth of $3 million USD.

CAREER:

When he was 17, Mike presented a show in WAVI-AM radio. He was so talente that he joined WFBC-AM and eventually, became a station manager. After this, he worked for two more radio stations in New York and finally landed his own talk show “The Mike Gallagher show”. Mike’s popularity led him to feature in a number of reputed magazines such as Time, Forbes, Wall Street Journal etc. The host has invited various high profile guests such as George W Bush, John Mc Cain, Dick Cheney etc. Mike also frequently appears as the guest contributor and co-host in Fox News owing to his conservative political views.

Besides establishing a successful career as a talk show host, Mike has also authored two books titled “Fighting Liberal Lunacy in America” and “50 Things Liberals Love to Hate”, with the former breaking in to the top 30 New York Times bestsellers list. The popular TV personality has indulged in a lot of philanthropy such as raising money for impoverished homes of Jamaica through his shows. He also founded his charity organisation “Gallagher’s Army” to support families of soldiers who were deceased or wounded during line of duty.

Mike’s career has not been devoid of controversies. He has been attacked for his frequent Islamophobic and racist comments. Also, he received a lot of flak for calling certain Hollywood celebrities like Matt Damon traitors for expressing their socialist views. Mike has also proved his mettle in theatre. He appeared in a guest role in the musical Memphis.
