Mackenzie Rosman

Mackenzie Rosman is a well-known American model and actress, widely recognised for her stage name, which is Ruthie Camden on 7th Heaven. Apart from acting, she is a professional equestrian and an activist of Cystic Fibrosis awareness.


Personal Life

Rosman was born in South Carolina on the 28th of December 1989 to Randy and Donna Rosman. She spent her childhood with her stepfather and his family, Katelyn Salmont and Chandler Salmont are her step-siblings. Her inclination to acting drove her to take up theatre classes at her high school, this was her stepping stone into the world of films.

Besides acting, she takes an interest in animals mainly horses; of the many horses, she is a proud owner of 'Mentos Junior' is her favourite and her competitive horse jumping partner. Katelyn Salmont, Mackenzie's sister who struggled with the genetic disorder cystic fibrosis motivated her to start a foundation to spread awareness and raise funds for improving the lives of people fighting this disease like her sister.

Mackenzie and her sister were both listed as '20 Teens Who Will Change the World' in the magazine Teen People for their contribution to the Cystic fibrosis Foundation. This led her series 7th, Heaven, to feature an episode towards the same cause, which starred both the sisters. Mackenzie has extended her helping hand towards rehabilitating children who were brutally abused, which gained her the title of ambassador for Childhelp, a charity organisation.

Career

Mackenzie started off as a part of the industry at the mere age of four when she appeared in ad films for Tuff's Diaper and the famous footwear multinational corporation Nike. The WB Networks, long-running series 7th Heaven was Mackenzie's first professional acting gig, her role as Ruthie Camden has won her the award for Best Supporting Actress and five other nominations. She also appeared in the 2010 ABC Family teen drama, 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager' as Zoe and a TV film Ghost Shark as Ava Reid.

In addition to TV performances, Rosman has starred in the 1998 film ‘Gideon' as molly MacLemore, alongside Charlton Heston, Shelley Winters, and Christopher Lambert. Her other films include Proud American, Night comer, Beneath the horror movies The Tomb and Fading of the Cries.

The short film ‘Ankh' (2015) portrayed her in the role of Chelsea. In Mackenzie’s 10 years long career as a cast member of 7th Heaven she has been nominated for Young Artist Awards in the categories of Best Performance in a TV Drama/Comedy- Supporting Young Actress in a TV Series in the years 1998, 2002, 2004 and 2007, she won in the year 2004.

Her first ever nomination was in 1997 in the category Best Performance in a TV Drama/comedy – Supporting Actress (age ten or under). At the age of sixteen, the actress had an appreciable amount of nominations which was often more than what her senior counterparts could show for. Her long and successful career has generated a net worth of two million dollars. In 2013, Mackenzie struck a pose for the celebrated magazine Maxim.
