Liza Rebecca Weil is an American T.V star. She is famous for her role in a T. V series called Gilmore Girls. She was born on June 5, 1977, in Passaic, New Jersey. When she was a kid, she wanted to become an archeologist because of the Indiana Jones films and her crush on Harrison Ford. Later on, she was diverted towards acting. Maybe, the reason for this diversion was her family.


She belongs to a family of actors. Her parents, Lisa Weil and Marc Weil had a comedy troupe called The Madhouse Company of London. She started her career by performing with the L.A Theater, working in live theaters. She got her television break in 1994, which was in an episode of The Adventures of Pete & Pete called “Yellow Fever”. Her first notable role came in a 1998 movie called “Whatever”. This movie was premiered at the 1998 Sundance Film Festival. Before this movie, she was part of a short film called “A Cure for Serpents”.

In 2000, she auditioned for Gilmore Girls and made it. This television series had 7 seasons and above 150 episodes. This series was aired on The WB network till September 26, 2006. After that, this show was aired on The CW network until it ended on May 15, 2007.

Personal Life and Career:

Weil married the American actor Paul Adelstein in November 2006. They had worked together in many theatrical projects. They appeared together in three films, “Short Order Up” in 2007, “Gregory Dark-helmed Frenemy” in 2008, and later in “The Missing Person”. They also appeared in an episode of an American medical drama called “Private Practice”, although they had no scenes with each other.

In 2009, Weil returned as a guest star in various T.V series, including appearances in television shows such as Eleventh Hour, CSI, In Plain Sight, Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice, and in February 2010, she began a run on the popular Internet series “Anyone But Me”. In mid-2009, she became pregnant and gave birth to a girl on April 20, 2010. They had no other children after her. In March 2016, Weil filed for a divorce from her husband Paul Adelstein.

Work after Gilmore Girls:

In 2006, Liza Weil acted in a horror themed short movie called “Grace”. She also performed small roles in films such as “Year of the Dog” and “Neal Cassady”. She worked in support of the American Diabetes Association's program called Fight Diabetes staircase climb event which was a weight loss program that took place in Philadelphia in October 2007.In 2011, she gave another important performance in a political thriller called “Scandal”. This television show was produced by Shonda Rhimes. Shonda was also the writer for the show.

Current work:

In February 2014, Liza Weil signed another Shonda Rhimes project called “How to Get Away with Murder”. In 2016, she made an appearance in the sequel of Gilmore Girls which was aired on Netflix. The sequel was called “Gilmore Girls: A Year in The Life”. Today, at 39 years of age, her net worth is 3 million US dollars.
