Keyshawn Johnson

Keyshawn Johnson is an American footballer who played college football formerly and now plays professional football. His alma mater was the University of Southern California for which he played college football. His stellar game at the University level led him to be chosen as the first pick at the NFL Draft of 1996 and he went on to play for several leagues. Today he has quit his footballing career and works as a host of sports-based television shows. His shows are mostly aired on the channel ESPN. He also had a brief stint at the dance show Dancing with the Stars.


Early Life

Keyshawn Johnson was born as Joseph Ladarious Keyshawn Johnson on July 22, 1972 at Los Angeles in California. He finished his sophomore years at the Palisades High School and went on for further junior school education at the Susan Miller Dorsey High School. He played football for this high school for their team Dorsey Dons when he was in his senior year, and this was the start of his footballing career.

Football Career

In college, he continued to play for the University of Southern California. In 1994 and 1995, he played for USC Trojans football. His game was widely recognized here and he even made it to a first-team All-America selection. He helped his team win the Cotton Bowl Classic of 1995 and became the Most Valuable Player. He further went on to play the Rose Bowl of 1996 and eventually became the Player of the Game.

In 1996, he made the first pick of the 1996 NFL Draft. Some of the leagues he played for after his selection include the New York Jets, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Carolina Panthers. He received the honor of induction in the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame in 2008.

Television Career

Keyshawn Johnson had a successful television career. He formed part of a team of NFL broadcasters for ESPN for the 2007 season. The shows he presented were the Sunday NFL Countdown and the Monday Night Countdown. He has analyzed the game on shows on ESPN, most notably the Who’s Now games. His contract with ESPN came to an end in 2015.

In 2003, he was the producer of a show titled Rome Is Burning. He has also previously produced shows such as NFL Monday Night Football and Super Bowl XXVII.

Personal Life

Keyshawn Johnson’s first wife was Shikiri Hightower. He divorced her after a four-year marriage in 2002. He has two children with her. His current wife is Jennifer Conrad whom he married in August 2014.

His stats are quite impressive, with a height of 6’4” with a weight of 212 lb.

He is also a restaurateur. One of his first restaurants is the Reign situated in the Beverly Hills area. This restaurant was started in June 1999. He had a spot of controversy, which went viral on Twitter, when Kourtney Kardashian claimed that he sold her a mold-infested house. This is the Calabasas Mansion in which he himself lived for two and a half years. His current net worth is believed to be a staggering $20 million.
